Volunteers are the difference
Do you have a few hours a week or month you would like to share?
Are you looking for work experience?
Do you want to learn & share Abbotsford’s history?
At Trethewey House Heritage Site, volunteers are the backbone of what we do. As a small local non-profit, we rely heavily on the support of the community to help with programming, special events, and museum operations. Volunteering at Trethewey House is flexible – volunteers can donate as little or as much time as they like and are welcome to try new positions as new opportunities arise, although certain positions require a more consistent commitment than others.
To apply, please read the volunteer job descriptions below and complete the volunteer application form following the descriptions. Please note that additional paperwork, along with an interview, will be required prior to volunteering on-site. Volunteer application forms are also available at the Trethewey House Heritage Site Office. For more information, please email us at email@example.com or call us at 604-853-0313.

More of a behind the scenes person? Help us greet visitors to the Heritage Site Office, answer phones and conduct basic office duties, such as occasional record keeping, scanning and filing. Office and Administration Support volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about upcoming events at the Heritage Site and to share information about our services with the public. Volunteers looking to help in this capacity should possess knowledge of how to use a computer.
Are you enthusiastic and the life of the party? Love a variety of tasks? Help out at one of our many events throughout the year! Special events volunteers help in all kinds of ways, from assisting with event set-up and take-down, greeting visitors, leading games and running crafts with kids, event photography and more! Helping with special events is a fantastic way to introduce yourself to the Site and to start to learn about Abbotsford’s past. Please note: special events occur irregularly throughout the year. For those looking to make a more regular commitment, please see other positions or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 604-853-0313.
