Christmas Open House

Come celebrate the Holiday Season at the Trethewey House Christmas Open House! View the historic house decorated with 1920s Christmas flair, enjoy some light refreshments, and get into the spirit of the season with some old-fashioned style and generosity – bring a donation (a non-perishable food item or cash donation) for the Food Bank in lieu of an entry fee!

Morris & Co. Wallpaper Painting Workshop

Do you love Trethewey House and turn-of-the-century Craftsman style? Now you can recreate a piece of Arts & Crafts to take home with you with our Morris & Co. paint-your-own wallpaper workshop! Come and learn more about the Craftsman design movement and create your own work of art to admire at the same time. This workshop is recommended for teens and adults and is designed to complement our Craft of Craftsman architectural tour of Trethewey House. The event runs from 5:30-7:30 pm on September 28th and tickets include materials and refreshments.

Storytime on the Porch – Maan Family

INVITED SPEAKER: MAAN FAMILY

Join us on the porch at Trethewey House Heritage Site for our third year of Storytime on the Porch! Each Thursday at 10 AM we will be hosting one or more long-time residents of the City of Abbotsford who will share their experiences, stories, and tales about growing up and living in the City. Speakers and visitors will have a chance to share and swap stories, ask questions and engage in deep, meaningful discussion in a low-key, quiet setting. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

Our featured guests on August 23rd will be the Maan Family, owner-operators of Maan Farms Market & Estate Winery.

Each Thursday at 10 AM we will be hosting one or more long-time residents of the City of Abbotsford who will share their experiences, stories, and tales about growing up and living in the City. Speakers and visitors will have a chance to share and swap stories, ask questions and engage in deep, meaningful discussion in a low-key, quiet setting. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

George Falk came to Abbotsford with his family in 1934 and he later went on to become principal of South Poplar school.
